On a gold colored metal shield shaped device, 3/4 inch (1.91 cm) in height divided diagonally from upper left to lower right, the upper part ultramarine blue and the lower part dark blue superimposed on an eagle displayed with wings inverted, two crossed fasces, all gold, between four white five pointed stars, two above and two below; at the top of the shield a gold eagle displayed with wings inverted 1/2 inch (1.27 cm) in height.  Overall dimensions of the device are 1 1/4 inches (3.18 cm) in height and 13/16 inch (2.06 cm) in width.

The eagle on the shield is of the design of the branch insignia for the National Guard Bureau.  The background colors are the same as the flag designs for the positions.
